Welcome to FPC! We’re a community of grace where our good, true and beautiful God is worshipped and where questions about following Jesus are welcome, regardless of where you are in the faith. We’re a pretty friendly group of folks. You’ll be welcomed with a smile, handshake and most likely, a cup of coffee! We hope that you’ll join us for worship!

Where is FPC located?

Set that GPS to: 547 Seventh Ave., Fairbanks, AK 99701

We are located downtown in between 7th and 8th avenues across from Sadler’s Furniture store and across from the Chevron Station.  We are easy to find, and if you want help finding us – give us a call at (907) 452-2406.

Where do I park? Where do I go for different church activities?

We have a parking lot on our property. There is also street parking and parking in the Wells Fargo lot across from our church.  During normal office hours (Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM), one of our staff members will be available at the church office window to direct you where you need to go. On Sunday mornings, we have greeters at the doors and in the narthex to greet you and answer any questions you might have.

What time do services start?

We have two worship services on Sunday morning: one at 8:30 AM and another at 11 AM.

Sunday School is held between services and begins at 10 AM. During the Summer, we have combined worship services on the first Sunday of the Month. This summer, those combined services fall on July 2 and August 6.

Do you offer childcare on Sunday mornings?

We encourage children to worship in the services with their parents, but for children 3 and under, there is childcare available in the nursery.

A worship opportunity, called “Children’s Church”, begins after the children’s sermon during both worship services. Children’s Church is available 4 years old through 4th grade.

What about Sunday School?

The Sunday School hour is held between our first service and second service (10-10:55am). Our Sunday school programs are for all ages. We welcome visitors, of course. If you are between the ages of 0 and 120 we have a great class for you.  We generally have two Adult Christian Formation courses, as well as our youth program and children’s Sunday school classes.

A note for children’s Sunday school classes: Because your child’s safety and security is of utmost concern, there is a check-in and check-out kiosk for your children, so please make sure to ask about that when you visit!  During the summer, there are no classes available for 4-5 year olds.

What is the dress code?

This is Fairbanks! Come as you are!

What are your worship services like?

FPC worship services last just over an hour, and include music, prayer, testimonies, offering, a sermon, and often an invitation to receive personal prayer for healing, etc. for those who would like it. If you visit FPC for worship, you can remain fairly anonymous as you “check things out.” You will not be asked to stand or be singled out in any way if you are a visitor.

Do I have to give an offering?

No, not unless God has so impressed you. We believe that the church is supported by the tithes and offerings of its members. As a visitor, you are not expected to participate in giving.

Do you have activities for the whole family?

YES. Throughout the year, there are various activities that will be posted on our calendar – picnics, game nights and similar activities. If you want to check out what is available for each age group, see the links under the “Connect” tab at the top of the page.

Do you have a separate service for children?

Yes. Though we LOVE it when our parents choose to keep their children with them in the worship service, we do provide a special worship opportunity for our 4 year olds through 4th grade students called Children’s Church. Children’s church begins with the children’s sermons during our worship services and then the children and their teachers head out to learn a scripture lesson that will help them comprehend scripture and God a bit more.

Are there opportunities for me to serve?

A priority of our church is our mission out into the world.  We have plenty of opportunities for service that make a difference!  Volunteer to be a teacher for our children’s ministry. Be a part of the team which gives food boxes away for 30 to 60 families every week. Serve at “The Well” dinners on Wednesday nights September to May. Come sing with our choir or in the worship band. The list goes on. Check out the “serve” section to explore more service opportunities.

How do I join FPC?

If you are visiting with us, please fill out a visitor card and the pastor will contact you.  To become a member, we offer New Member courses throughout the year. Ask a pastor and keep your eyes open for new classes in the bulletin. We look forward to meeting you!
