Jesus tells us, “It is more blessed to give than to receive,” and he lived that out by coming to us as a servant. In serving others we tend to receive far more than we give, and we obey Jesus. We invite you to participate in the following service opportunities at FPC.

Opportunities

The Well

A Wednesday evening meal welcoming people from all walks of life. Hosted by various groups both inside and outside FPC from September through May, who prepare and serve our neighbors. Meals vary week to week.  Join us from 6:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesdays.

Food Box Wednesdays

Taking orders and Distribution occurs every Wednesday (10am-4pm), year round. Call the office to be involved in taking orders over the phone(10am-12pm), unloading boxes from the trucks (1-2pm), and fulfilling orders with those who called in (2-4pm).

Road Kill Ministry

When we get the call from Alaska State Troopers, the call goes out and a team forms. Then the team recovers and processes moose that come available, typically through an accident. The meat is used for various ministries in the church or distributed as needed.

Membership Matters

The best way to serve at FPC is to take our membership course Believing, Being and Belonging course. This class introduces you to the basics of the Christian faith, to the practice of small group discussion around the Bible, how to pray for each other, and asks for you to “buy into” and participate in the body life and teaching ministry of this particular cell of Christ’s body. Once you take this course and publicly become a member of FPC then all sorts of service avenues open up.
